What heading 2501 covers
The heading text reads: salt (including table salt and denatured salt) and pure sodium chloride, whether or not in aqueous solution or containing added anti-caking or free-flowing agents; sea water (tariffnumber.com, 2501 00 99). It sits in Chapter 25 of the Harmonized System, which groups mineral products such as salt, sulphur, earths and stone.
In practice, coarse krosok salt K1, K2 and K3, fine salt in Mesh 16 to 26 and powder salt K100 are normally declared under 2501, iodized or not. Adding a small amount of an iodine compound does not change the product’s character as table salt.

Indonesian codes and the export declaration
Indonesia uses an 8-digit national tariff, the BTKI, built on the 6-digit HS. The 8-digit sub-heading for each of our SKUs is to be verified on INSW before it is printed on export documents; until then we do not publish it. The importing country applies its own national tariff line, which may differ from the Indonesian one even though the first six digits match.
Preferential duty under trade agreements such as ATIGA or the Indonesia–UAE CEPA is claimed by the importer with a certificate of origin. The HS code on that certificate must match the code in the customs declaration, so agree the code with your customs broker before the documents are issued. See also how to import salt from Indonesia.
