Edible Packaged Salt for Singapore Importers and Traders

We supply Singapore importers and trading companies with edible packaged salt from Indonesia, with documents that work for local use and for re-export.

A trading hub: local use and re-export

Singapore is a regional trading hub, and many trading companies there buy for resale to other countries. For a trader this changes what the documents must do: the COA, Halal certificate and packing details need to satisfy the final destination as well as Singapore. Tell us the end market at the RFQ stage so that label text, pack format and documents are prepared once, not reworked at transhipment.

Singapore is an ASEAN member, so qualifying Indonesian salt can be shipped with a Form D certificate of origin under ATIGA. Whether tariff preference affects your costs depends on Singapore’s tariff for salt and on the trade agreements of the re-export destination; ask your customs broker.

Food-grade packaged salt

For this market we offer non-iodized fine salt Mesh 16, Mesh 18 and Mesh 20, iodized fine salt in Mesh 16 to 26, and iodized powder salt K100. Salt is packed in 25 kg or 50 kg PP sacks or 1-tonne jumbo bags for factories and repackers. Retail or foodservice packs under your brand are available on request; pack sizes are [awaiting data].

Spec values for each SKU (NaCl, moisture, insoluble matter, KIO3) are reported on the COA per batch ([COA]). Mesh sizes in millimetres are explained on the mesh size page.

Import requirements in Singapore

Food imports into Singapore are regulated by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). The importer is responsible for checking SFA’s current import requirements for salt, including its labelling rules, before the goods ship. We supply the product documents those requirements call for; tell us if a specific declaration or test report is needed.

Buyer questions

Do you supply salt for re-export from Singapore?

Yes. Tell us the final destination when you send the RFQ, and we prepare label text, pack format and documents that suit that market as well as Singapore. Certificates such as the COA and Halal certificate are issued per batch, so they can travel with the goods to the next buyer.

Who checks SFA import requirements for salt?

The Singapore importer checks them, because SFA requirements apply to the importing company and can change. Before the first shipment, confirm what SFA needs for salt as a food product and send us the list; we supply the product documents and label information from our side.

Can you pack salt under a Singapore trader’s own brand?

Yes, private label packing is available on request. You provide the artwork and label text, including any wording required in Singapore or in the re-export market, and approve the proof before production. Available retail pack sizes and the MOQ for printed packs are confirmed in the quotation.
