Buyer questions

What is the difference between K1, K2 and K3 salt?

K1, K2 and K3 are Indonesian quality grades for krosok coarse salt. In the general literature description, K1 is the whitest and cleanest with NaCl of about 94% or more, K2 is roughly 90–94%, and K3 is lower and greyer (KKP review). Ventura's own values are stated on each batch COA.

Is krosok salt iodized?

No. Ventura's krosok salt in grades K1, K2 and K3 belongs to the non-iodized line. If you need iodized salt, choose iodized fine salt in Mesh 16, 18, 20 or 26, or powder salt K100. If the salt will be sold as table salt, check the iodization rules in your country first.

What is Mesh 20 in mm?

Mesh 20 on the US standard sieve scale is an opening of 0.841 mm, so crystals passing it are smaller than about 0.84 mm (Mesh scale)). For comparison, Mesh 16 is 1.19 mm and Mesh 18 is 1.00 mm. Mesh 26 is not a standard sieve size; its mm value awaits confirmation of the sieve used: .

What iodine level does the Indonesian SNI require?

SNI 3556:2016 requires at least 30 mg/kg KIO3 in iodized consumption salt (source). That equals about 17.8 mg of iodine per kg of salt. A revision is being drafted as RSNI3 3556:2024, so check the current version before fixing a contract specification.

What is the difference between KIO3 and iodine ppm?

ppm equals mg/kg, but the figure may refer to KIO3 or to iodine alone. Iodine is 59.3% of KIO3 by mass, so 30 mg/kg KIO3 is about 17.8 mg/kg iodine. WHO uses 20–40 mg iodine/kg (WHO) and Malaysia 20–40 mg/kg (MOH Malaysia). Always state the unit in your specification.

Is Ventura salt Halal certified?

Yes, PT Ventura Sinergi salt is Halal certified. The certificate number, issuing body, validity date and PDF will be published on the quality & Halal page. Until then, ask for a copy of the certificate with your quotation, particularly if the salt goes into Halal-certified food products.

What is the HS code for salt?

Salt is classified under HS heading 2501, which covers salt including table salt and denatured salt, pure sodium chloride and sea water (tariffnumber). The Indonesian 8-digit subheading (BTKI) is to be verified on INSW, and importers should check their own national tariff. Details are on HS code 2501.

Which documents come with a salt export shipment?

Typically a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, per-batch COA, a copy of the Halal certificate and a certificate of origin, such as Form D for ASEAN trade or the IA-CEPA form for the UAE. Other documents, such as a health certificate, are prepared per destination requirement. See the export page.

What is the MOQ and lead time for salt orders?

MOQ and lead time are not published because they depend on product, packaging, volume and destination. Both are confirmed per order in the quotation. Send a quotation request with the product, grade or mesh, volume and schedule you need, and we will reply with the figures that apply to that order.

Can I get a sample and COA before ordering?

Yes. State the sample requirement in your quotation request, together with the product, grade or mesh and the parameters you want to test. Samples are sent with their batch COA so you can compare it with your own test results. Sample quantity, courier cost and timing are confirmed per request.

What packaging is available?

The formats we commonly offer are 25 kg and 50 kg woven PP sacks and 1-tonne jumbo bags (FIBC). Availability of each format for a given product is confirmed per order. We do not state a fixed number of bags per container; for an estimate, use the salt requirement calculator.

Do you accept private label orders?

You can request private label through the quotation form by selecting private label packaging and describing the pack size, artwork and destination country. Feasibility, minimum quantity and label requirements, including mandatory information in the destination market, are confirmed per order before production starts.

How do I request a quotation?

Fill in the quotation request form under the Domestic or Export tab: product, grade or mesh, volume, packaging, destination and, for export, the Incoterm. In this preview version the form prepares a summary you can copy; direct sending by WhatsApp or email activates once official contacts are published.

Which chemicals does Ventura supply, and is an SDS available?

Every shipment comes with an SDS and must be handled under local dangerous-goods rules. State the form and concentration you need in your request.
